Hello, I live up on the seventh floor in an 8 storey block of flats in central London. I usually walk down the stairs on the way out to work and often see various objects left by the residents in the communal stairwell, I thought you might like to have a look........

Boxing Day
Yesterday I saw this metal bread bin that in a day has been joined by a bag of rubbish and a stylishly tied together foldable chair.

Quiet On the Stairs Front
It's been very quiet on the stairs this week, maybe because Christmas is approaching, or maybe because those cleaners are being super efficient and are beating me to those throw away items of wonderment.
Here's another 'What's on the stairs' fact......
There are two other sets of stairs in our block - oh yes! The one we go up and down is the central set of stairs which is wider than the other two. I rarely go on the other two, infact the last time was when it was one of the Queen Mother's birthday celebrations (100th?). One of our neighbours had a key to the roof so me and the girls snook all the way up and watched the Red Arrows fly past which was pretty amazing and then we watched other jets and planes fly over too. Between ear shattering displays I looked around at other blocks around us and saw other people on the roof tops watching the sky celebrations too.

Zimmer Me Timbers!
On the way home tonight on our floor we saw this unlikely couple - Miss Zimmer and Mr Frigidaire - I'm sure there must be someone out there we know who could use this as we approach our golden years...........

Mystery? Solved!
Well, when I saw this I didn't know what to think, I had no idea what this object could be. I asked hubby and daughter number 2 for their opinions. Hubby looked as bemused as I felt! Daughter number two said it is an electrical lead organiser. Never seen one of those before and I doubt if I'll be buying one either, it looks like some weird kind of mouse trap!

2 Times Table
This morning there was yet another table on the stairs, I wonder if it fell apart or was dismantled?

Any Old Rags?
Do you get rag and bone men any more? We could do with one around where we live. When I was little the rag and bone man rang his bell as he walked alongside his horse and cart, collecting all sorts of textiles and household junk - (maybe I imagined the horse and cart! Er, actually no I do remember.....) I also remember the open backed vans that came later, often with someone blowing a trumpet..... but I definitely remember the bell ringing and calling out of 'rag bone! rag bone!' and of course there was the pop van too.........

Signing Off
Putting up signs securely isn't one of our estate office's strongest points, as you can see by this sign that has dropped off one of the walls!

Friday Pie Day
Mmmmm, I don't know what this was for or from. Looks like some kind of betting ephemera.
Have a great weekend!
On The way Back From Martin's Show
Last night I went to Martin's Private view of his wonderful work at The Watchtower, 199 Bermondsey St, London SE1 3UW. On the way back home I passed by yet another huge bag of rubbish, thank goodness we have art to take our minds off the actions of thoughtless people.

Super Size Me
You probably can't tell but this drink carton is huge! It must have held about a gallon of pop, and I am not joking!

A Finger Of Fudge!
Good to see the old fudge bars are still going, do you remember the advert? Maybe a few words will waken your memory (if your as old as me that is!).
A finger of fudge is just enough to give yourself a treat
A finger of fudge is just enough until it's time to eat
It's full of cadbury goodness
And very small and neat
A finger of fudge is just enough to give yourself a treat
If you can't remember or haven't seen this advert check it out here..................................
N R G
Feeling listless? Got 35p? Well grab yourself one of these 'Energy Drink Energy' beverages
appearing on a set of stairs near you!

Nowt
It's been a quiet week on the stairs this week, just fag ends and bin bags, maybe the next few days will bring something a little more unusual. Have a lovely weekend!

Toot For Tuesday!
This morning I spied - a red biro, a bottle of evian, a bottle of Ribena and a stripey hand bag nestling in some cushion pads.

Tagging Along
I forgot to post this photo, kindly taken by my daughter Barbara. We spotted it at the weekend, no sign of the snood though.

Waddaloadarubbish!
Yet more rubbish. I could smell the contents of this blue bag from at least 6 feet away - pongo! I wasn't expecting to see a rotting pineapple....

Fright Night
On the way up the stairs tonight I came across this motley crew on their way to picking up their friend (skull boy). I think there will be strange goings on in the block tonight!
Feeling Blue
I saw this single mattress on my floor as I went out to work this morning. I looked down the stairs and caught sight of an abandoned baby car seat, but by the time I got down to the bottom I could see the cleaner carrying it away - drat!

Double Trouble
It's been quiet on the stairs this week, I got quite excited when I saw 2p in a corner but not as excited when I saw a tiny screw! Then I imagined how horrified my daughters would be if I started logging bits and pieces from peoples pockets, so I stilled my hand and left my camera unused in my bag. (I keep passing that screw though!). Good to see that others continue with qwerky behaviour, I thought that our resident professional door opener had left the block, but no! They are back in business as we can see from the water filled thingymajig above.

Table Take off Time!
This abandoned computer table looks as if it's about to take off! What an angle! I think that there will be more computer tables left at the wayside with the advent of i-pads, laptops and micro computers (I might have invented that last one!), time will tell.
